Tribute to Michael Jackson: Classic Guitar Moments

Friday, June 26, 2009 | Trackback

To honour the passing of Michael Jackson, the 'King of Pop', I thought I would put together some of the classic guitar moments that he has both created and inspired. Who can ever forget 'beat It', 'Dirty Diana', and 'Give In To Me.

This is were it all started. A true Jackson classic with a legendary guitar solo from the equally legendary Eddie Van Halen.

Dirty Diana - Michael at the height of his powers with an awesome guitar performance from Steve Stevens.

Give In To Me - This time the guitar honours go to GnR axeman Slash.

I can always remember loving the riff to Smooth Criminal even when I was a complete metal head in the eighties. So when Alien Ant Farm turned this song into a metal anthem I was all over it. Simply one of the best metal cover versions I've heard.

RIP Michael and thank you for the music. You'll never be forgotten!

This incredible custom car was built from an old 1968 Ford station wagon and the guitar was hand fabricated from 18 guage steel sheets and angle iron. Pretty cool eh? You can view more photos and read the full story over at the Cool Cars blog.
